I had the pleasure of attending The Photo Cookout photography conference in Chattanooga, TN. Hosted at The Read House Hotel, the conference is led by the founder (and Mama Bear) Dr. Tomayia Colvin. What is unique and important to me about the conference is that it is black-led, black-owned, and primarily for black people. As a San Diego Black Family and Wedding Photographer, that was a key element for me. The conference features photography industry leaders and novices alike. No matter your status, you are family here.
Here are some of my take aways from the conference:
So not only can you develop your photography and videography skills, meet new people, and get inspired, but you can do it all while enjoying a relaxing environment with your family. I consider that a win all the way around.
Thank you Dr. Colvin for creating this space and I look forward to attending the Photo Cookout year after year.
Grab a cup of coffee and let’s schedule a time to talk.
